Preparing Instructions For Brewing Matcha Green Tea

If you like to drink green tea but have not yet tried matcha, then your taste buds are in for a wonderful surprise. Unlike most green teas that are sold in leaf form, matcha tea is typically sold as a powder. Matcha teas have a lot of antioxidants and you can brew them to drink or you can add them to smoothies and other specialty drinks. 

If you would like to brew a cup of matcha green tea to drink, then follow this procedure for the absolute best results:

Step 1: Gather the Necessary Supplies

To brew the best cup of matcha green tea, you will need the following supplies:

In addition, you need a cup of boiling hot water. For a great cup of tea without mineral flavor contamination, use either filtered or distilled water. 

Step 2: Put a Teaspoon of Matcha Green Tea Powder in the Tea Cup and Mix It into a Paste

Using your measuring spoon, place a teaspoon full of matcha green tea powder inside of your tea cup. Put a few drops of the boiling water into the tea cup with the tea powder and mix it into a paste with your bamboo stirring stick. When you have a substance with the same consistency as toothpaste, then you are finished mixing.

Step 3: Mix the Boiling Water with the Matcha Green Tea Paste

To brew your cup of tea, put the rest of the cup of boiling water into your tea cup with the tea paste. Mix the paste and water using a bamboo whisk. Whisk the tea solution until the tea paste is completely mixed within the water and there are no remaining lumps present. 

Step 4: Let the Matcha Tea Rest and Cool Before Drinking It

Before you sit down to drink your freshly brewed green tea, give it a few minutes to finish brewing and cool off. Once it has cooled, then enjoy it with your favorite pastry. 

Mixing Matcha Green Tea with Other Liquids

Finally, if you like matcha green tea but do not want to drink it as a hot tea, then you can mix in a teaspoon of the tea powder with your favorite other drink. Fruit smoothies and milkshakes are wonderful ways to get the antioxidant advantages of matcha egcg green tea without drinking a hot drink.
